krissie & jon | phipps conservatory ceremony | cornerstone at tonidale reception | pittsburgh wedding photography

This sweet Phipps Conservatory wedding was a lovely way to start off what I’ve been calling the “home stretch” 😉 The slow season is coming, but some of the weddings I’ve been most looking forward to fall at the very end of this year. We’re winding down, and this day was the perfect thing to lead us into that end-of-year excitement as we look forward to some Saturdays with family & friends!

Speaking of friends, I met Krissie almost ten years ago at a portrait studio job we shared during my college  years – I can’t believe it’s been that long! Her marriage to Jon has been something I was really excited to witness and capture, because it’s always been so obvious just how much joy he brings her. These two are a perfect match, and I loved seeing Krissie’s laughter and sheer bliss on their wedding day! My job is the best.

We started off coverage later than is typical for a Saturday wedding, and due to logistics we didn’t cover any prep of these two, but beginning with the First Look was so great – I think this is one of the best groom reactions I’ve ever captured! <3

We did some portraits while the last bit of daylight streamed through the conservatory roof, and then it was time for the ceremony. The Broderie Room is just gorgeous – what a great ceremony setting.

Upon our arrival to the reception venue, Cornerstone at Tonidale, each of the couples had a hilarious themed entrance planned – the bride and groom, of course, entered in Batman masks, which perfectly suited the humor and silliness they share in their relationship! So fun! To be totally honest, I don’t think I’ve heard the Hokey Pokey played at a wedding since joining this industry seven years ago, but I was cracking up at how much these two and their guests got into it! Followed by another classic, the Chicken Dance, everyone was in hysterics. What a wonderful night celebrating two sweet people and the official start to their lives together as husband and wife! I’m so glad I was able to capture these moments for you both.Congratulations, newlyweds <3
